But how do you hijack a plane from a heavily guarded military base where the Nazis are developing retribution weapons that can change the course of the war at the last moment? The film is based on real events - the story of the Hero of the Soviet Union Mikhail Devyatayev, who decided to make a daring escape from a German concentration camp.
